UNITING FOR THE LOVE OF ANIMALS AND THE PLANET - THE CLIMATE PETITION PARTNERSHIP

2015 UN Climate Conference must address the impact of animal agriculture on climate change

We are immensely grateful to the extraordinary path leaders whose trailblazing work has inspired the climate petition and Climate Partnership campaign, and in particular Kip Andersen & Keegan Kuhn for their groundbreaking documentary COWSPIRACY that exposes not only the vastness of the planetary devastation that results from industrial animal agriculture but also the power of those with vested interests to keep this information away from public awareness and off the climate policy agenda.

THANKS TO THE PATH LEADERS!

Cowspiracy: The Sustainability Secret is a groundbreaking feature-length environmental documentary following intrepid filmmaker Kip Andersen as he uncovers the most destructive industry facing the planet today – and investigates why the world’s leading environmental organizations are too afraid to talk about it.

Animal agriculture is the leading cause of deforestation, water consumption and pollution, is responsible for more greenhouse gases than the transportation industry, and is a primary driver of rainforest destruction, species extinction, habitat loss, topsoil erosion, ocean “dead zones,” and virtually every other environmental ill. Yet it goes on, almost entirely unchallenged.  As Andersen approaches leaders in the environmental movement, he increasingly uncovers what appears to be an intentional refusal to discuss the issue of animal agriculture, while industry whistleblowers and watchdogs warn him of the risks to his freedom and even his life if he dares to persist. Philip Wollen: Australian Philanthropist, Former VP of Citibank Animals Should Be Off The Menu
"CO2, Methane, and Nitrous Oxide from the livestock industry are killing our oceans with acidic, hypoxic Dead Zones. 90% of small fish are ground into pellets to feed livestock. Vegetarian cows are now the world’s largest ocean predator. The oceans are dying in our time. By 2048 all our fisheries will be dead. The lungs and the arteries of the earth...."
UNEP:  calls for a global shift to a vegan diet to
survive hunger, poverty and climate change
“Impacts from agriculture are expected to increase substantially due to population growth increasing consumption of animal products. Unlike fossil fuels, it is difficult to look for alternatives: people have to eat. A substantial reduction of impacts would only be possible with a substantial worldwide diet change, away from animal products .”
Indianeers: Factory farming: The biggest cause
of the Climatic Change and World crisis!
"The reason that you don't know much about the Factory Farming is that they don't want you to know... Factory farmers don't want you to know that most eggs, chicken and pork products come from factory farms. They realize that the products they produce wouldn't sell if shoppers were told exactly where they came from."

The Daily Conversation: Fight Climate Change,
Eat Less Meat
"Meat consumption is the leading cause of climate change. Animal agriculture accounts for roughly half of global emissions. On average, each American eats 275 pounds of meat a year, compared to the global average of 90 pounds per person (41 kg)."
